Skiing trip with brunost break

Skiing trip with brunost break

My hometown in Norway is Lillehammer. This is a city that is known for winter sports, and we even arranged the Winter Olympics in 1994. I therefore grew up doing winter activities, such as ice-skating, sledging, building snowmen and, like most Norwegians, cross-country skiing.

Cross-country skiing is the one activity I have to do when I go back to Lillehammer for Christmas. On the 26th it was snowing like crazy, but on the 27th I woke up to lovely weather with snow-covered trees. It was thus time for the annual Christmas cross-country skiing trip.

Skiing and brunost

I packed a lunch, prepped my skis and dressed my sister’s dog in some winter clothes and we were on our way. Halfway through our trip we had our lunch break – bread with brunost! I think brunost works very well for a packed lunch as it doesn’t get sweaty like many other cheeses does! We all enjoyed a short lunch break, but it was probably the dog who enjoyed it the most. She loves brunost and she was really hungry after all the running she had to do to keep up with us skiers!

We enjoyed our lunch and were soon on our way again. The weather was amazing and the skiing as well. It was a perfect day for my annual cross-country skiing trip!
