Street Food Thursday in Berlin

Street Food Thursday in Berlin

Street Food Thursday is a weekly event held at Markthalle Neun in Berlin. On the first day of my stay in Berlin, I headed there to check it out. The street food market has a huge selection of international food, so it should be possible for almost anyone to find something they can enjoy. The food selection is amazing, and oysters in particular seemed to be a hit. There was also a very good selection of Asian food, such as spring rolls and dumplings. Yummy! A few stalls sold speciality food to take home, such as cheese! I love trying new foods from all around the world, so this was a perfect place for me to spend the evening. The hardest part was actually deciding what food I wanted to try. I would recommend getting there early, as the place fills up and it gets hard to find seats later in the evening. Street Food Thursday starts at 17.00 and ends at 22.00 every Thursday.

When I discovered that one of the stands at the market sold French crêpes, I got the idea of trying these with brunost. I usually have crêpes with chocolate, but I find that this sometimes gets too sweet. I kindly asked if the person making the crêpes could make me one with brunost, and he said yes! Believe me when I tell you: this was absolutely amazing. The brunost was slightly melted and was not too sweet. Crêpe with brunost is a perfect combination!
