Christmas Traditions

Christmas Traditions

I love Christmas and its one of my favourite times of the year. My favourite part of Christmas is spending time with my family and friends, eating tasty food and cakes and all the traditions I have built up throughout the years.

It’s a bit of a struggle, but I try my best to not start Christmas until December 1st. But from that day and the rest of the month almost all I listen to is Christmas songs. I also start watching Christmas movies. My all-time favourite is “It’s a wonderful life”. This is the one movie I have to watch every year for it to feel like Christmas.

One of the things I love to do is making Christmas cakes and homemade candy. I have been doing this with my sisters for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family where we always made food together. One of the Christmas cakes we always make is Gingerbread. This year I made gingerbread with brunost. They are really yummy! We also make homemade toffee and marzipan and some brunost-filled biscuits. I love listening to Christmas music and working in the kitchen together with my family. I also love snacking on whatever we make. Is there anything that taste as nice as homemade candy and cakes?

Christmas Eve is spent with my family. We have traditional Norwegian Christmas food, eat all the cakes and candy we made in advance, open presents and enjoy ourselves. I want to wish all the brunost fans out there a very merry Christmas.
